This place is really a hidden gem! A speakeasy vibe with high performance quality live music bands combining with delicious vegan dim sum! Yes they cater for vegans too!! not to mention the delicious cocktails there! the team is so lovely, from the front desk to bartenders to servers to managers! We always have a great time there! Love it! It’s now my favourite weekend go-to to hang with my friends!
Best xiao lung bao and cocktails in town. My recommendation/ cocktails: smoke and sultry and Purple rain. The fried Cheung fun, spicy fish and the lamb bun are so delicious. I went on a Wednesday the live band named The Soul Strut is beyond, the lead vocal singer has the best voice. Staff are also very friendly. Will definitely come back again.
As soon as you step in the entrance and on your way to the guest reception you immerse yourself in a different atmosphere, like you are back in HKG a few decades ago. Gentlemen’s umbrellas are hanging on the wall, displayed like they are for sale. But that’s not all. We were really lucky and could be admitted, as the place was full that Friday night in October and we were a party of 4 without booking. Suddenly one of the window display opened, it was in fact a “secret door” leading to the main room. Live music from group “On point” was on, cocktails were made and served. We stood next to the bar and enjoyed glasses of white wine, and I ventured in drinking a Queen of Melody. The music was bewitching, we eventually started to sing along the tunes from Beyoncé, Michael Jackson or Bruno Mars, with guests around us standing and dancing in between tables. WHAT A NIGHT.
We didn’t have food, however can warmly recommend a cocktail at Foxglove after dinner, and before your night is over.
Perfect place for a date night. The bar has a great ambiance and some good wine selections. The live jazz band is amazing - I have been here 4 - 5 times and was never disappointed. What made my visit more worthwhile was meeting Danya. She is the events manager who is super gorgeous and friendly, stealing the spotlight from the jazz band. If there are any needs, she will be a great help.
Most of you should be familiar with Foxglove, the 🍷bar/ restaurant behind an umbrella shop. I went on a Monday with my PT (yes, I’m the bad influence) and I was surprised it’s basically JAM PACKED. Well done guys! Always quite impressed by their dimsum quality! Who have thought they serve legit 🥢 dimsum at a bar (and with live music from time to time!!). My fav is always gonna be Mala XLB (love the tanginess of the soup). I also highly recommend the turnip deep fried puff (eat it while its still hot). Also tried a new dish this time – cumin spiced 🐑lamb served with crystal wraps. You can smell the aroma the moment it was served. A very aromatic dish! On a spicier note, the golden hotpot (which is mandarin fish in Sichuan hot broth) portion is GENEROUS. It’s a flat noodle paradise and fish was tender too. I should have come on a Wednesday because they have this ⭐️ star search thing every wed night where local hidden talents from different walks of life can SHINE on the stage. Oh almost forgot to mention they have a good selection of cocktails as well - tried the Purple Rain (inspired by the Prince’s song obv)! HKD 600-800 pp!
Arguably one of the most Instagrammable restobars in the city, Foxglove boasts an interior design harkening back to the 1950s, with atmospheric lighting, mid-century decor, and a regular cycle of local and international jazz bands performing weekly. The venue is most known for their signature cocktails and dimsum menu, all inspired by the establishment’s fictional founder: English gentleman and adventurer Frank Minza 🤵🏻♂️
We enjoyed delightful bites such as their Sichuan xiao long bao, and Sichuan boiled fish, they were my favorites. We also sipped away on their carefully crafted pistachio infused Queen of Melody, loved every sip of it 🍸
The live music sparked up the whole atmosphere as well 🎶
Back at one of my favourite (and the OG) speakeasy bars and it was so much fun! LOVE the ambiance and their spicy xiaolongbao and cocktails were all so good!
Foxglove is one of the most instagrammable restobars in HK which is most known for their signature cocktails and dimsum menu. Their interior design features atmospheric lighting and mid-century decor. Each signature menu is inspired by the love affair of English aristocrat Frank Minza and a mystical Eurasian burlesque dancer named Mrs Pound during their epicurean adventures in the streets of Shanghai. Helmed by bar manager Saheb Ambekar, the new signature cocktail menu is inspired by Frank’s talented musician friends of their era, reminiscing wholesome moments and fond friendships.
